Conservator-Type Distribution Transformers

Conservator-type distribution transformers use an expansion tank to accommodate changes in insulating-oil volume as operating temperature varies. Ideal Transformer manufactures this oil-immersed range from 50 to 2,500 kVA for voltage classes up to 36 kV. The design is suited to utility networks, industrial plants, infrastructure, renewable-energy facilities and projects where operating conditions call for a conventional conservator arrangement.

Available engineering choices include 50/60 Hz frequency, ONAN cooling as standard, ONAF where required, copper or aluminum windings and project-specific Dyn11, Dyn5 or Yyn0 vector groups. The conservator, oil level indication, breather arrangement, pressure protection, temperature monitoring, tapping range and terminal configuration are selected in line with the specification. Electrical and mechanical design follows IEC 60076 and contractual performance values.
