Custom-Engineered Oil-Immersed Transformers

Ideal Transformer develops custom-engineered oil-immersed transformers for utility requirements, industrial loads, renewable-energy connections and infrastructure projects that cannot be met by a standard catalog configuration. The company’s documented portfolio covers distribution transformers from 50 to 2,500 kVA for voltage classes up to 36 kV and power transformers up to 50 MVA and 66 kV. Selected international references include non-standard voltage ratios, single-phase units and application-specific designs.

Every custom transformer begins with electrical, thermal and mechanical design in accordance with IEC 60076 and the customer specification. The engineering review covers rated power, voltage ratio, frequency, losses, impedance, vector group, insulation level, temperature rise, short-circuit strength, ambient conditions, noise, dimensions and transport restrictions. Cooling can include ONAN or ONAF for distribution duty and ONAN, ONAF, OFAF or ODAF for power-transformer projects. Copper windings are standard for power units, with aluminum available when specified.

Production includes CRGO core processing, controlled LV and HV winding, active-part assembly, tank manufacture, vacuum drying, vacuum oil filling and Factory Acceptance Tests. Routine tests include winding resistance, transformation ratio, vector-group verification, insulation resistance, applied and induced voltage, no-load and load losses, impedance and leak inspection.
